Skin pigmentation, veins, and early signs of aging can all appear on the skin for a variety of reasons. Genetic predisposition, sun damage, and age all contribute to these cosmetically challenging conditions. One of the most effective methods for treating these concerns and rejuvenating the complexion overall involves laser skin rejuvenation, available at our med spas serving El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove, Folsom, Roseville, and Sacramento, CA.
We use the Lumenis® M22™ laser system and the Cutera® laser in combination with either the Excel V™ or Laser Genesis handpieces, which treat myriad skin conditions for both men and women of varying skin tones.
What Is Laser Skin Rejuvenation?
Many clients desire laser treatment for both cosmetic and medical reasons, and with the Cutera® and Lumenis® M22™ lasers, we’re able to address nearly any type of skin concern.
Benefits of laser skin rejuvenation include:
Usability for both men and women
Healthier blood flow for vascular issues
A more youthful appearance
Treatment of mild to severe skin conditions
Decreased risk of skin cancer for pigmentation conditions
Adjustable equipment for specific skin types
No matter your issues, laser treatment may be the right solution to produce smoother, healthier skin. Other cosmetic procedures, such as microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and dermal fillers may be used in conjunction with laser treatment to enhance skin quality. Treatment with the Cutera® or Lumenis® M22™ laser is an outpatient procedure and requires no downtime once the procedure is complete.
Meet the #DAGs
A #DAG is a Destination Aesthetics™ girl or guy who believes in equality, freedom, love, acceptance, and peace.
As nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and licensed estheticians, we combine our years of experience and artistry in our craft with a passion for bringing out the very best in you. We are family-centric teammates on a mission to help you live your best and most beautiful life.
The Lumenis® M22™ is a cosmetic laser platform that offers a range of treatments for pigmentation, enlarged pores, fine lines, and more.
This non-ablative fractional resurfacing treatment treats signs of aging, scarring, rough skin texture, and sun damage. After applying a topical anesthetic, we pass the handpiece over your skin to deliver the laser energy. Your skin may feel hot for the next few hours, and some swelling may last for up to a week.
Used for photorejuvenation or photofacials, this light-based treatment uses intense pulses of light to break up red and brown pigmentation in the skin. The process is very gentle, so you won’t likely need any form of anesthetic. After the treatment, you may notice some mild redness and a warm feeling for a few hours. After that, the pigment in your skin will darken and then flake off over the course of about a week.
We sometimes combine these functions to offer a “photofractional” approach, which delivers the benefits of both treatments at once.
What Does the Cutera® Excel V™ Laser Treat?
The Cutera® Excel V™ specifically targets veins and benign pigmented skin conditions. One major appeal of the laser is that it reduces the appearance of rosacea, an otherwise difficult condition to treat with no cure currently available. Additionally, the laser’s wavelength can be adjusted to suit various skin types, complexions, and abnormalities. Laser energy targets blood inside the vessels or the melanin in the skin to eliminate those visible imperfections. You may need multiple sessions to achieve full results.
The Cutera® Excel V™ laser specifically treats spider veins, port wine stains, cherry angiomas, rosacea, leg veins, and sunspots. The professional team at Destination Aesthetics™ can help determine whether treatment with the Cutera® Excel V™ laser is right for you. The aesthetic results of the Excel V™ laser are seen as a long-lasting solution for pigmentation and vascular concerns.
Laser Vein Treatment With the Cutera® Excel V™
One of the most popular uses for the Cutera® Excel V™ is the treatment of veins on the face (spider veins) and body (leg veins or varicose veins), offered at our Roseville location. These prominent veins range from pink to dark purple in color. The laser’s light energy breaks down these vessels and allows the body to safely reabsorb them, leaving behind clear, more evenly colored skin. Treatments are quick, involve little to no downtime, and don’t require the injections associated with traditional sclerotherapy.
DA sets the bar high and is the new gold standard for what excellent looks like in a day spa and cosmetic procedure practice. I will let everyone I know about the professional, qualified, skilled, safe, and outstanding experience I had - DA is the BEST!

What to Expect from Cutera® Excel V™ Laser Treatments
The first step in receiving laser treatment is to consult with a member of the Destination Aesthetics™ staff. With a complimentary consultation, we will evaluate your skin and determine whether your specific condition could be effectively treated with the Cutera® Excel V™ laser. The procedure does not require anesthesia, and most patients find the slight snapping sensation often described during the treatment to be very tolerable. The length of your session will vary, but usually, the procedure takes no more than 15 to 30 minutes per session.
You should begin seeing results within 2 to 6 weeks, but your full outcome will not be complete until after a few months. Side effects associated with this procedure are rare and may include redness, slight swelling, and bruising. Overall, clients who receive cosmetic laser treatment with the Cutera® Excel V™ are pleased with how quickly and effectively their skin conditions improve, and they feel more confident in their appearance with smooth and rejuvenated skin.
What Does Cutera® Laser Genesis Treat?
The Cutera® Laser Genesis is designed to handle early signs of aging, such as fine lines, shallow scarring, and enlarged pores. The procedure also addresses uneven skin texture and revives a dull skin tone that has lost its luster over time. With this handpiece, laser heat is delivered into the underlying dermal layers without damaging the outer dermis or surrounding tissue. This means subtle but noticeable results over time, as the results of the procedure tend to be cumulative.
In addition to treating the outer skin imperfections that make you look older than you feel, the Laser Genesis device stimulates the body to produce more collagen in the deeper dermal structure. Collagen is a necessary support substance for the skin, giving it a smooth, supple appearance. Because collagen levels decrease as we age, the diminishing support leads to skin laxity and the formation of facial creases. Restoring collagen levels reverses those signs of aging and produces a smoother, more vibrant complexion once again.
What to Expect from Cutera® Laser Genesis Treatments
We will listen to your concerns and discuss your expectations for your procedure to determine whether Laser Genesis is the right choice for you. Like Cutera® Excel V™, Laser Genesis treatments are performed as a day procedure without the need for anesthesia. There may be a mild sensation as the laser heat penetrates the skin’s surface, but this is not especially uncomfortable. These sessions may also take just a few minutes to complete, depending on the size of the treatment area.
You will likely see positive results within a few days after your initial Laser Genesis procedure, but a series of sessions will give you the best results overall. Most of our patients achieve their full aesthetic goals within 4 to 6 treatments, spaced about a month apart. At that time, a touch-up session once or twice a year will help you maintain your more youthful appearance over the long term.
What Does the Spectrum Laser Treat?
The Spectrum laser system is a versatile platform that includes 4 separate laser wavelengths and intense pulsed light (IPL), enabling us to perform a range of treatments. These treatments include skin resurfacing, laser hair removal, tattoo removal, and IPL photofacials.
Spectrum uses Erbium YAG laser energy to minimize sun damage and wrinkles in a way that’s less aggressive than other skin resurfacing lasers. The Spectrum laser is fractionated, removing micro-layers of skin and creating micro-channels in the skin that trigger the body to generate new cells and produce more collagen. These processes lead to smoother and more youthful skin, with a visible reduction in lines, scarring, and hyperpigmentation.
The Q-switched laser included in the Spectrum platform is considered the “gold standard” for removing unwanted tattoos. It works by breaking down tattoo pigment into particles that the body can then naturally remove through its immune system. Spectrum’s Q-switched laser can remove an array of ink colors over the course of several treatment sessions and works on any skin tone.
Permanently reducing unwanted hair is something that both men and women want, which is why laser hair removal is so popular. The diode laser included on the Spectrum platform is adjustable so our laser technicians can quickly and effectively treat both large and small areas.
Vascular & Pigmented Lesions
IPL treatments effectively treat facial spider veins, birthmarks, freckles, age spots, and other blemishes that fall under the category of vascular and pigmented lesions. The treatments are non-ablative (meaning the skin’s surface remains intact), so they’re gentle and cause little to no discomfort.
